The station is located about 6.5 mi west of Davis, about 5 mi east of Winters and on the property of the UC Davis Russell Ranch.

To reach the station from the intersection of State Highway 113 and Russell Boulevard on the west side of Davis, go west on Russell Boulevard for 0.5 mi to a Y-intersection with Arlington Boulevard. Take the left fork and continue west on Russell Boulevard for 4.3 mi to anotherY-intersection, Road 95A. Take the right fork and continue north and west on Russell Boulevard for 1.0 mi to a side road left, Kinsella Lane. Turn left and go south on Kinsella Lane for 0.1 mi to a dirt side road right. Turn right and go west on the dirt road for about 30 m to a dirt side road left. Turn left and go south for 0.1 mi to a dirt side road right. Turn right and go west on the dirt road for 0.25 mi to an 30 m by 30 m enclosed fence area with weather recording instrumentation and the station inside the enclosure. (The combination to the gate is 0632.)

The station is a stainless steel rod set inside an aluminum access cover flush with the ground. It is 3.0 m south of the north fence and 3.0 m west of the east fence.
